Kasha, a Rwandan digital health access startup, has announced another successful funding round to fuel its expansion across Africa. The latest investment comes from Finnfund, with additional participation from Blue Haven Initiative and other existing investors, reinforcing confidence in Kasha’s mission to improve access to essential health products and services for women.

Founded in 2016 by Joanna Bichsel, Kasha leverages technology to provide discreet access to health and personal care products, including contraceptives, menstrual care items, and pharmaceuticals. Operating in Rwanda and Kenya, Kasha offers an easy-to-use platform that caters to underserved women in urban and rural areas, providing them with reliable delivery options and secure payment methods, including mobile money.

The new funding will enable Kasha to scale its operations within existing markets and expand into new countries across East and West Africa. With a focus on reaching more low-income women, the company aims to enhance its tech platform, streamline logistics, and broaden its product range. Kasha also plans to deepen its partnerships with healthcare providers, NGOs, and governments to strengthen its impact on public health outcomes.

Kasha’s commitment to making healthcare accessible aligns with global efforts to address gender disparities in health services. By combining e-commerce with health education, Kasha not only meets the immediate needs of its customers but also empowers them with the knowledge to make informed health decisions.

CEO Joanna Bichsel highlighted the importance of this funding round in Kasha’s growth trajectory, stating that the support from investors will accelerate Kasha’s vision of transforming health access for millions of women. As Kasha continues to expand, it remains dedicated to delivering high-quality health products and services to those who need them most.

Kasha’s journey is a testament to the power of technology in driving social change, and this latest funding round marks a significant step forward in its mission to provide inclusive health solutions across Africa.
